Kyokko Beach, Lampung: A Bali-Like Beach Experience

Beaches are often a favorite choice for unwinding and escaping daily routines, whether for a short getaway or simply to enjoy a refreshing change of scenery. The sound of the waves, vast ocean views, and a relaxed atmosphere make the beach perfect for various activities, from leisurely walks and sampling local food to simply sitting back and enjoying the afternoon breeze.

Located at the southern tip of Sumatra Island, Lampung is home to many beautiful beaches worth exploring. One of them is Kyokko Beach, which offers a modern atmosphere blended with strong local charm, made even more appealing by the scenic journey required to reach it.

Location

Let’s start with the location. Kyokko Beach is situated not far from Bandar Lampung City. By motorbike, you can reach the beach in less than 40 minutes. The route is relatively easy, although there are a few uphill sections, especially near the road bordering the luxurious Lampung Marriott Resort & Spa.

I recommend bringing drinking water and light snacks, as you’ll pass through several forested areas with limited shops along the way.

Facilities

Beyond its stunning scenery featuring white sandy beaches and clear blue water, Kyokko Beach offers excellent facilities for visitor comfort. One of the first things I noticed was the spacious parking area, which can accommodate plenty of motorcycles and cars.

From the entrance, you’ll also spot several animals roaming freely around the beach, adding a natural and refreshing vibe. I saw deer-like animals and several types of peacocks wandering freely, creating a closer connection to nature.

Another highlight is the clean and well-maintained shower and toilet facilities, which feel almost international-standard. Unlike many public toilets where soap is often missing, Kyokko Beach ensures that soap is always fully stocked. Trash bins are also placed around the beach, so don’t forget to keep the area clean.

Along the shoreline, Kyokko Beach provides free-to-use gazebos, as well as bean bags for sunbathing and relaxing. Just remember to use them in designated areas and avoid bringing them too close to the water.

Entrance Fee & Dining Options

If you have a decent budget and want to enjoy a modern beach atmosphere, Kyokko Beach is a great choice. With an entrance fee of IDR 80,000 per person, you can enjoy the beautiful white sand beach all day long, plus a complimentary soft drink upon entry.

Although the beach itself isn’t very large, it’s more than sufficient for sunbathing, strolling, or simply playing along the shore.

If you get hungry, there’s also an on-site restaurant offering a variety of light snacks and full meals. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to try the food because dark clouds rolled in and we hurried back to Bandar Lampung to avoid getting caught in the rain, which, as it turned out, we couldn’t escape anyway.

A Pleasant Surprise on the Way Back

Despite the rain, there was a silver lining, we discovered an amazing Nasi Kapau restaurant along the way back to Bandar Lampung. The food was incredibly delicious and diverse. The place is called Nasi Kapau Safari, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

That pretty much sums up my experience at Kyokko Beach, Pesawaran, Lampung. Have you ever visited Kyokko Beach? If yes, feel free to share your experience in the comments!
